The organisation

Sharing India with the world is what we set out to do, and it is meant literally. These art forms belong to everyone who wants them. Our purpose is to make them present and accessible in Europe — programmed at a professional standard, placed in public space rather than behind closed doors, and taught to anyone who wishes to learn.

The three strands support one another. The conservatory trains performers; the festivals give them an audience of thousands; the productions are where the work travels beyond Belgium. Few organisations in Europe hold all three for Indian art forms, and it is that range — from a first lesson to a national stage — rather than the size of any single event that describes what we are.

We are not a promoter. Everything we earn returns to the programme, the artists and the sites we work on. The association is governed by its board, supported by a core team of volunteers who carry the work through the year, and held to the accounting obligations of Belgian non-profits.
